Canadian Light Source (CLS) Inc. is Canada's national facility for synchrotron light research. Located on the university campus in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the CLS is wholly owned by the University of Saskatchewan.
Synchrotron produces extremely bright light (millions of times brighter than the sun) by using powerful magnets and radio frequency waves to accelerate electrons to nearly the speed of light.
MSI set up the initial reference frame and alignment procedures for the accelerator. MSI also supplied data collection and reduction software to the laboratory to aid in the alignment process. |
